PARLIAMENT, WESTERN CAPE – Eskom told the Energy and Electricity Portfolio Committee on December 4, 2024 that the country will not experience load losses during the festive season.
Eskom top brass, including CEO Dan Marokane, told the commission that the electricity grid is stable, and he expects keep the lights on all of December. He also said the utility hopes to keep the grid stable enough for the winter and ensure a winter without load shedding.
Eskom presented its key performance targets for the 2025/2026 financial year. Marokane said Eskom is focusing on its long-term strategy and objectives and defining its economic role. He said Eskom’s financial performance has improved.
